The Government of the Republic of Korea has provided five vehicles to Ukraine’s Centre for Humanitarian Demining. The vehicles will support specialists travelling to sites where humanitarian demining work is being carried out.
One purpose of these field visits is the independent quality control of completed work. Centre specialists need to reach clearance sites in person, and the additional transport will help the quality control team organise its work across different locations.
The Centre for Humanitarian Demining said it has engaged 35 additional specialists for quality control. As the team has grown, so has its need for vehicles to conduct field inspections in different regions.
Representatives of Ukrainian institutions and the Korea International Cooperation Agency, KOICA, took part in the handover. They also discussed potential areas for further cooperation in mine action.
